Volkswagen Golf MK7 The Car Specifications

Volkswagen Golf MK7 The Car Specifications

The exterior design of the Volkswagen Golf is famous for its subcompact design which continues to follow the latest car design developments, so that the differences between each generation are quite clearly visible. However, for the eighth generation the differences are quite significant.

The front of the car has an arch that protrudes to the bottom of the car and the headlights are designed to be thinner. This design combination further emphasizes that this hatchback car is capable of intimidating those who see it.

The car headlights use IQ Light LED matrix technology which displays 22 individual LEDs per matrix, in other words the car headlights can turn on automatically. Volkswagen car rims measure 17 inches.

Turning to the back of the car, the flagship Golf logo is at the bottom of the Volkswagen logo, while the Volkswagen logo itself is in the middle.

What makes it different from the previous generation is that the Volkswagen Golf MK8 uses the MQB Evo platform, the same platform used by several classy cars such as the Audi A3 Mk4, Seat Leon Mk4, and Skoda Octavia Mk4.

The complementary features of the Volkswagen Golf MK8 are quite complete and sophisticated. Some of the advanced features and technology in question include travel assist, namely a steering system that uses an autonomous system so it can drive at high speeds of up to 210 km per hour. This is because travel assist is supported by cruise control and lane keeping assist.

When the sensor on the steering wheel detects a driver's touch for a duration of more than 15 seconds, a warning signal will be sent in visual and audible form along with the braking system.

Later, the emergency braking system will automatically stop the car safely.

Another advanced technology is the automatic emergency warning feature to predict when a car accident will occur.

So, when the sensor detects that a car accident has occurred, the OtoFriends smartphone will receive a warning message.

If the message does not get a response from the owner, the car will automatically send an emergency signal via the emergency alert feature to the nearest hospital or police station.

Another advanced feature and technology is the virtual assistant Alexa developed by Amazon. We can control several entertainment features such as music players, weather forecasts or news, and control other devices just through easy-to-operate voice controls.

The eighth generation Volkswagen Golf is equipped with two different fuels, namely petrol engine fuel and diesel engine fuel. Each type is also equipped with a different engine capacity.

The petrol engine is equipped with two engine capacities, namely 1.0 L and 1.5 L, the 1.0 L engine capacity is capable of producing a maximum power of 90 hp and 110 hp, while the 1.5 L produces a maximum power of 130 hp and 150 hp. What is special is that the Volkswagen Golf MK8 has a hybrid system on petrol engine variants with different outputs, namely 1.0 L 3 cylinder and 1.5 L 4 cylinder, both of which will be connected directly to a 7 speed DSG transmission system.

The hybrid engine on the Volkswagen Golf MK8 is driven by a 48V starter generator supported by a 48V lithium ion battery which plays a role in energy recovery after braking.

Meanwhile, the diesel engine is equipped with a 2.0 L 4 cylinder engine capacity which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 115 hp and 150 hp.

Different from the previous generation, this machine is also claimed to be 17 percent more economical than the previous generation. Using this hybrid engine can allegedly consume 27.9 km per liter.

Volkswagen Golf Specifications The Volkswagen Golf Mk7 or Golf VII is the seventh generation compact hatchback of Volkswagen's popular car.

Introduced in 2012 and marketed in Europe at the end of the year. Using the same MQB platform as the Audi A3 and SEAT Leon, the facelift version entered Indonesia in 2017. The first impression when seeing this car is the typical sporty Volkswagen design with its fairly low design.

The headlights have DRL technology and the rear bumper has a tough feel. The dimensions are quite large compared to other hatchbacks, but it is still dynamic as an urban car.
